Something unexpected

Something bizarre happened today as I was out in central Stockholm with my mother. Having just left a museum where we had enjoyed some russian paintings from the early 19th century and late 18th century we got caught in the streets at a red light.

From nowhere came several tanks and trucks with heavily armed soldiers on them.

Luckily, I had brought my new 70-200 f/2.8 which would turn out to be the perfect lens for such a situation.

I quickly grabbed a few shots as the tanks passed by, all the while nervously glimpsing at the soldiers standing alongside the road, observing the confused civilians.

As it would turn out, these weren’t the Russians finally invading Sweden. Instead, it was the Swedish military forces having a battle simulation where they would have to protect critical positions in central Stockholm.
